Just "The Bump"...And Firsts

If you thought the last post was going to be pictures of me all over Pahrump displaying my baby bump, you were probably disappointed.  And the last thing that I want to do is disappoint my readers.  So here is the first picture ever of my pregnant belly, at 19 weeks.

It's not much to look at.  But I hope this satisfies the curious.

These last two weeks have been full of firsts. I went to my first baby blessing in the Gravett family!  Dave's brother Mike and his wife Jac had us all out to Nebraska to see our nephew Avram blessed.  We also visited Winter Quarters for the first time, which was awesome.  I love church historic sites and their visitors' centers!

Proof that Dave was there, holding Avram.

The whole family together.  I have a bump here too, at 17 weeks.

Dave also had a farewell from the first real job he had out of law school.  The people he worked with at the courthouse in Pahrump were all really great, and they will be missed.

Dave and Melissa: They say, "You're in a LOT of trouble!!" to each other any time they see each other.

In case you can't see what they're holding up,  here's a close-up.  Jello made to look like drug court urine samples.

And here is Dave drinking the disgusting stuff!  (Actually, it was really tasty!  Pineapple!)

Another picture with the whole gang and the sign they made for us:

We also found out for the first time what gender our baby is.  We have just moved, though, and I'm sure that our new doctor will want to do another ultrasound.  So it's probably not the last time that we'll be told what we're having.

Oh, you want to find out now what we're having?  :D  It's a girl!!!!

And here's the real view of the belly, since I know you weren't satisfied with the one at the top of the post:

  2. You're so cute! I can't believe you're that small still and so far along, but I'm sure you don't feel that way. :) Yay for little girls! Here's hoping the rest of your pregnancy goes well.

  4. I love that your smile in that last picture says, "haha, I'm so clever to make you think you'd only get a forward shot!" Touche, Merry. Touche. (No, I don't know how to get accents. Please insert those in your mind.)
    Good luck with the move!

  5. After that first picture, I was like, 'What?! That's all Merry?!' so I'm glad you posted the last one haha

That's so funny what Dave's coworkers did! It sounds like a good group of people to work with!

  6. Baaaahahaha at the jello samples! So appetizing. And yes, you're looking good!! Looks like you're in the regular-shirts-look-pregnant-maternity-shirts-look-normal phase. :-D Josh and I saw the Gravett family pic on FB and we were exclaiming over you--"Is that a bump?? Look! A cute bump!"

And YAAAAAY! for a little girl! A boy would've been exciting too, but I'm excited to bring my girls to play with your girly sometime! :-)

  7. Thank you all for the comments. Yes, sometimes I do feel very clever at my posts. I am also the kind of person who laughs at her own jokes. :D

I am pretty small. I keep thinking that maybe my due date is actually a little later than what I've been told. But I think it's also a matter of what I wear. It is EXTREMELY obvious to me when I am just looking at my bare belly that I have grown a lot. Not in a bad way, but it is just a fact.

Geneil, I think you're right about the shirts. I have several loose, flowy ones that I really liked when I was first pregnant because they prevented me from looking just fat. Now I don't like them as much because I want to flaunt the fact that I am not just fat!
